The public and members of Temple Sholom are cordially invited to attend a special Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) presentation and service on April 27, 2025, at 7:00 p.m at Temple Sholom, 1925 Lake Avenue, in Scotch Plains. Tova Friedman, a child survivor of the Holocaust, will tell her harrowing story during a program of remembrance and hope. After Friedman’s presentation, the evening concludes with Temple Sholom’s special Yom HaShoah service under the leadership of Cantor Darcie Sharlein. The service gives voice to those who endured the Holocaust, from those who perished at the hands of the Nazis to those who miraculously survived. Six candles, representing the six million Jews who perished, will be lit by Temple Sholom members who are Holocaust refugees or the children/grandchildren of survivors. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be available on Zoom. Kindly contact the Temple office at (908) 889-4900 for the link. Also, please contact the Temple office if you need any accommodation to attend this event. This program is presented through the generous support of the Rabbi Sidney
