Shabbat La Vida Loca

Temple Har Shalom invites you to come celebrate the Jewish community of Latin America at a very special musical Shabbat on Friday, March 28th at 7:00 PM. At our “Shabbat La Vida Loca”, Cantor Marina Shemesh will be sharing her experiences from “A Musical Jewish Heritage Journey to Argentina” led by the Cantors of the ACC. This Shabbat Service will feature joyous and uplifting Latin American rhythms led by Cantor Shemesh, Cantor Mark Biddelman, and other guest musicians. , The evening will be filled with Salsa Power, with “or chadash”, a new light that will open your life to the taste, music and prayer of the Jews of the southern hemisphere. The Service will include the music of the progressive Argentinean Synagogues that have adapted the secular dance forms into it’s ritual using the rhythms of tango, rumba, bolero, camavalito, cha cha, etc. and is a mixture of these Latin dance forms and traditional European style ballads. We will continue the Latin American celebration after the Service with a special Oneg filled with Latin American food and desserts.
