Interfaith Teen Leaders Program

Building Bridges. Combating Hate. Creating Community.

Interfaith Teen Leadership at Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ

The Interfaith Teen Leadership Program empowers high school students to combat hate and build bridges across different faith communities (including Jewish, Latter-Day Saint, Catholic, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Baptist, etc.) Through dialogue, education, and collaboration, participants learn about each other’s religious traditions, discuss pressing social issues, and work together on meaningful service projects.

How It Works

The program is open to 10th–11th graders who are recommended by community leaders or the Committee. Interested students must submit an application, including a short essay on why they want to participate and what they hope to contribute.

Participants will:

  • Teach and learn about different faiths through peer-led discussions.
  • Explore issues affecting teens today, including the rise of antisemitism and hate.
  • Collaborate on service projects
  • Attend in-person gatherings approximately every once a month throughout the school year.
  • Participate in special programs, including:
    • Community Mitzvah Day
    • An overnight trip to Washington, DC in April
    • Tradtional holiday meals
