About this Synagogue

Congregation B’nai Israel creates a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community for our congregation and guests. Our congregants come from communities throughout Somerset and Morris counties to participate in our modern, engaging, music-filled services. Our services reach out to all with their spiritualism. While having its original roots in Conservative Judaism, the congregation is progressive and welcoming to all, including interfaith families. From early childhood to adult education, there are many ways to grow your Jewish knowledge with us including Torah study, guest speakers, and our experiential Religious School. Our school infuses children with an understanding of Jewish ethics, history, traditions, and prayer, while engaging them in meaningful social action. Or join us for our fun monthly young family programs, allowing parents and children to socialize while connecting with Jewish holidays and traditions. B’nai Mitzvah preparation begins in our school with Hebrew reading and prayer, and culminates with individualized work on Torah. CBI is focused on Tikkun Olam - healing the world! By actively engaging in our local and global community we strive to help solve the problems that face us through tzedakah, social action, and acts of loving-kindness. We are a social and caring community, with congregants who have diverse family backgrounds and structures. At Congregation B’nai Israel we strive to build and maintain a Jewish community where you always have a family and a home. Please come visit us and see what we are all about.
