A Bar Mitzvah Legacy Revisited
Evan Ratner, a donor and activist, donated a playground in Greater MetroWest's partner community of Kibbutz Erez in honor of his son Alex's Bar Mitzvah. Some 8 years later, during tense times when bombs were continually falling nearby, Alex comes to visit and sings to the children with his friends from the Whiffenpoofs, Yale's renowned a cappella group.
Are you in college and never been to Israel?
Are you an adult looking for a personalized Israel experience?
Are you a teenager who’s passionate about Israel?
Are you a family who wants to introduce Israel to your kids?
Israel has completely transformed what it means to be a Jew, whether you live in Israel or in Greater MetroWest. This core belief in the centrality of Israel lives daily through the Legow Family Israel Program Center (IPC), the heart and soul of the Greater MetroWest-Israel connection.
IPC brings Israel to MetroWest and MetroWest to Israel through travel, the arts, informal and formal education, community holiday celebrations — even yoga! Along with full-time American and Israeli staff, Greater MetroWest is home to the largest number of shlichim (emissaries) in the country, all dedicated to sharing their love of Israel and our Jewish heritage with our community.
The Legow Family Israel Program Center (IPC) also works closely with Federation’s Community Relations Committee, among other agencies, to promote a strong and vibrant relationship between the MetroWest Jewish community and our Israeli friends.
IPC offers myriad programs for teens*, young adults*, and adults. Learn more by clicking on the links at right. We also sponsor:
