Operation Protective EdgeFederation Supports Israel’s Operation Protective Edge

Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ supports Israel’s Operation Protective Edge initiated to respond to the constant rocket attacks by Hamas against Israeli civilians and to restore stability and quiet to Israel. Almost 300 rockets have been launched into Israel from the Gaza Strip since June 12, the day the three teenage Israelis were brutally kidnapped and murdered, followed by the subsequent horrific murder of a Palestinian teenager, reaching a peak on July 7 with 80 rockets launched at Israeli cities. The reality of living under the constant threat of rocket fire is inhumane and unacceptable. Our thoughts and prayers are with our partner communities in Israel – who have been coping with constant “code red” rocket alarms – all of the people of Israel, and the Israel Defense Forces. We hope for a swift and successful end to the operation so that peace will prevail for Israel and all violence will cease.

Operation Protective Edge is an absolutely legitimate act of self defense. No person or family should have to live in fear of the next rocket landing on their house, on their school, or on their market.
