There is no place in the world more meaningful for the Jewish people than Israel. Since 1948, Israel has completely transformed what it means to be a Jew. Because of Israel, Jews have a national identity, wherever they live.
Here at Federation we believe that Israel is one of the most effective ways to connect North American Jews to their heritage, Jewish community, and their own people. We also believe Israelis get more involved, more connected, and more aware of their Jewish identity when they have relationships with Jews outside of Israel.
The Greater MetroWest community is involved in a large number of projects and programs in Israel. We answer social and educational needs in the periphery, promote Jewish identity and religious pluralism within Israeli society, help develop the Negev, and build living bridges that connect MetroWest and Israel.
These “living bridges” with our seven partner communities in Israel and two in the Ukraine have become one of the most important pillars for the Greater MetroWest-Israel community. The more people who cross these bridges, the stronger they become. All of Federation’s diverse Israel-related travel opportunities, programs, projects, partnerships, missions, and activities are geared toward connecting our people.
Federation is equally dedicated to connecting and helping Jews around the world through our four overseas partners agencies, which give us the capacity to reach Jews in need in over 70 countries.
